Activity Boards

Activity boards, or busy boards, bring locks, buttons, switches, and straps together on one surface. An activity board lets a child practice things they want to try anyway — but safely and in one place. Undoing a lock, fastening a button, and tightening a strap are skills needed for getting dressed, and on the board they can be repeated as many times as needed, with no one in a hurry. Activity boards are of most interest to one- to three-year-olds. A smaller activity board or activity book suits the car and the waiting room, since it holds a child's attention without a screen.
