Wooden Toys

Wooden toys built to last through a third child. The selection includes wooden blocks, sorters, push trains, lacing toys, and fishing games — all made of natural wood with child-safe paints. A wooden toy is heavier and sturdier than plastic, so it stays intact longer. Wood is also more interesting to the senses: it has a texture, weight, and smell that smooth plastic doesn't offer. Blocks and large sorters suit toddlers, while wooden puzzles and role-play toys suit children from age three. Check that the edges are sanded smooth and the paint is non-toxic. A wooden toy should not be washed under running water or in the dishwasher.
